These delicious no-bake banana bread balls are a healthy, easy, make-ahead snack that is made with nutritious ingredients and no added sugar. They’re perfect for pregnant and nursing moms, kids, and toddlers!

I never thought I'd become obsessed with these little snack balls. I never understood why the internet was so obsessed with them when you could open a cup of yogurt and sprinkle on some berries and granola. Or cut up an apple and dip it in peanut butter.

Then I had babies and understood the obsession. Because with babies, sometimes you don't have an extra hand to use a spoon, or an extra 5 minutes to cut an apple. A healthy, tasty snack made with nutritious ingredients that you can pop in your mouth with one hand in a matter of seconds? Um, yes please! These delicious banana bread snack balls are my new favorite version, made as a way for me to use up over-ripe bananas and almond flour in a nursing-friendly snack.

Why You'll Love These Healthy, No-Bake Banana Bread Balls

For the most part, it's all in the title:

  • Healthy - Made with nutritious ingredients like oats (which are great for milk supply, mamas!), almond flour, walnuts, and bananas, they're filling and full of protein, fiber and healthy fat. There are made with no added sugar, just natural sweetness from brown banana!
  • No Bake - These are super simple to make. Just blend, roll, and refrigerate in a matter of minutes.
  • Banana Bread - Yes, a healthy snack that tastes like banana bread. What could be better?
  • Balls - Which means you can pop one in your mouth single-handedly.

Do I need to explain any further?

How To Make No-Bake Banana Bread Balls

  1. Add all of the ingredients except for the walnuts to a food processor. (I love this mini KitchenAid one!) Pulse until well blended and a smooth dough forms.
  2. Add the walnuts and pulse until they are mixed in.
  3. Scoop into balls with a cookie scoop or tablespoon and use your hands to roll into balls.
  4. Place in the refrigerator.

Tips For Snack Ball-Making Success

  • You may have to stop to scrape down the sides of the food processor one or two times with a spatula during blending.
  • Wet our hands or coat them with a little bit of oil (it's moisturizing!) before rolling the dough into balls to prevent it from sticking to your hands.
  • I think these taste best after sitting in the refrigerator for at least a few hours.

Ingredient Substitutions

  • If you don't have almond flour, you can use more oats instead.
  • To add more protein, feel free to add a scoop of your favorite protein powder. I like to use collagen peptide powder because it's flavorless.
  • Leave out the walnuts if you'd like, or substitute pecans!

Did you even try this recipe yourself? There was such a high ratio of dry ingredients and the only wet was banana that the mixture was so thick it broke my food processor
