Healthy and flavorful jalapeño chicken burgers are perfect for summer cookouts this season! With just a few simple ingredients, they're easy to make in just minutes.
Burger season is in full swing, and I'm not complaining! There is nothing better than a summer cookout with family and friends. If you've had your fill of regular beef burgers, give these healthy jalapeño burgers a try!
Why You'll Love These Chicken Burgers
Before you dismiss these burgers as a flavorless, dried-out, not-burger, hear me out. Just because this jalapeño chicken burger is healthier, doesn’t mean it is any less delicious! They're even beef-loving-husband approved!
These jalapeño chicken burgers are made with just a few ingredients - fresh jalapeños and garlic, chicken, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. That's it! They stay juicy and flavorful and taste delicious with creamy avocado slices. The real treat is that they take only minutes to prepare so they're also perfect for weeknight dinners.
How To Make Healthy Jalapeño Chicken Burgers
- Mince the jalapeño and garlic using a sharp knife or mini food processor.
- Add everything to a bowl and use your hands to mix well.
- Use wet hands to form 4 patties and place on a plate in the refrigerator.
- Heat your grill or grill pan to medium heat and cook burgers for 5 minutes per side, flipping just once, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Add cheese and let move burgers to indirect heat (or cover your pan and turn off the heat) to let the cheese melt.
- Serve with any toppings your heart desires!
Pro Tips for Delicious Chicken Burgers
- If the jalapeño is extra hot, be sure to remove the pithy ribs on the insides, as they hold a lot of heat there. You can also soak the jalapeños in cold water after removing the seeds to tame some of the heat.
- Wet your hands when shaping the patties to prevent the meat from sticking to your hands.
- Keep patties chilled before grilling to ensure they stay together.
- To toast buns, either place them on the grill for a few minutes, or toast in the oven at 400°F for about 5 minutes.
Perfect Side Dishes To Serve with Burgers
- Healthy Broccoli Salad or Broccolini Superfood Salad
- Healthy Dill Potato Salad or Mustard Potato Salad
- Grilled Sweet Potato Wedges or Marinated Grilled Veggies
- Jicama Apple Slaw or Cucumber Jicama Avocado Salad
- Add a glass of sangria or summer shandy!

My hubby feels the same way as yours when I have turkey burgers on the menu. But he felt differently after he had my ginger miso turkey burgers. He'd love these chicken burgers too. Yum!
