Festive apple cider sangria is a delicious fall cocktail, great for Thanksgiving or girl’s night and a great use for fall apples!
Anybody else here NOT a fan of eggnog? I can’t stand it. Never liked it, never will.
So what do you serve when you want to feel festive, but not drink the eggnog? You make Apple Cider Sangria, of course! The apple and cinnamon flavors make a wonderfully festive beverage for guests who want to steer clear of the eggnog but still enjoy a holiday libation.
This drink is pretty flexible, so use what you have. Of course apple cider is pretty mandatory, but if you don’t have Crown Maple (which is what I use), by all means, use a different spirit, like caramel or vanilla vodka! Also, I love honey crisp apples, but use any kind you want! Red will look prettiest though.
I recommend making this ahead of time. The longer the spices sit in it, the better it will be. Just leave out the club soda if it is going to sit overnight so it doesn’t go flat, then pour it on before serving. Cheers!Print
Apple Cider Sangria

- 1 750 ml bottle dry white wine (pinot grigio works well)
- 3 cups apple cider
- 1/2– 1 cup Crown Maple or other spirit
- 1 cup club soda
- 3 honey crisp apples, chopped
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise pods
- Stir together all ingredients in a large pitcher.
- Chill and serve over ice.
