Cherry fans will love this easy smoothie recipe! Blend up this juicy cherry berry smoothie for a snack or take it to go for a quick morning meal.

Why You'll Love This Smoothie

When it comes to smoothies, simple is best in my opinion! That's why I love this simple, 3 ingredient smoothie! It packs a powerful punch of probiotics, protein, fiber, and antioxidants. And more importantly, it tastes delicious!

What Are Probiotics?

Simply put, probiotics are good bacteria. These healthy bacteria live in your gut to help keep you healthy by keeping harmful bacteria at bay, enhancing your immune system, aiding digestion, and communicating with your brain. New research is emerging all the time about the roles that good bacteria play in our bodies. There are many strains of probiotics with different benefits that can be taken as supplements, but probiotics are also found in some foods, like cultured milk products. Specifically in this smoothie the probiotics come from kefir!

The Ingredients

  • Kefir - Kefir is a fermented milk drink with a good amount of probiotics and protein. It's tangy taste and thick liquid texture make it perfect for smoothies! Find it near the yogurt at the grocery store.
  • Fresh sweet cherries - full of polyphenols that act as antioxidants, fiber, and natural neurotransmitters, cherries pack a powerful (and tasty) punch. You can use frozen if fresh aren't available.
  • Frozen mixed berries - Berries also contain a high amount of antioxidants and fiber. Buying frozen means they're always available and thickens this smoothie nicely.

How To Make Cherry Berry Probiotic Smoothie

Blend everything together in a high speed blender (such as a Vitamix) until smooth. Add more kefir as needed to reach a thinner texture, especially if you're using frozen cherries.
