How to Serve Shrimp
Shrimp in Garlic and White Wine Sauce: Place the shrimp and sliced garlic in a serving bowl and spoon the garlic and white wine sauce over the shrimp. Sprinkle with the fresh chopped parsley. You can also ladle the shrimp and sauce over rice or pasta. Serve the dish with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
Grilled Shrimp: Serve the shrimp straight off the grill to preserve the smokiness and warmth. Line a platter with parchment paper and arrange the shrimp with lemon wedges, fresh herbs, and a variety of dipping sauces, such as cocktail sauce, garlic aioli, sriracha mayo, harissa, or tahini lemon sauce. Serve the shrimp with a side salad or grilled veggies.
Tips & Variations for this Dish
Cooking shrimp is both an art and a science, bringing out its natural sweetness and texture without overcooking it. Here are several tips to ensure your shrimp dish turns out just right:
- Buy shrimp that smells like the sea but not fishy.
- Adjust the cooking time depending on the size of your shrimp. Larger shrimp will take longer to cook than smaller shrimp.
- Avoid overcooking the shrimp, or they will turn rubbery. They're fully cooked when they turn pink and opaque.
- Pat dry the shrimp before cooking to ensure a better sear and to prevent them from steaming instead of sauteing or grilling.
How to Store Leftovers
Shrimp is best eaten right after being cooked. If you must store leftovers, shrimp will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Place the sauteed shrimp to an airtight container and pour the sauce over them to keep them moist. Place the grilled shrimp in a sealed container or wrap them in aluminum foil or plastic wrap.
