Learn how to cook shrimp with these two super easy and quick methods.

Ingredients

Scale

Method 1: Shrimp in garlic and white wine sauce

  • 1 pound shrimp, choose the type of your liking. I used king shrimp.

  • 1 glass of white wine

  • 1 bunch of fresh parsley

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method 2: Grilled

  • 1 Pound shrimp, again the type of your liking. I used king shrimp

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • The sauce of choice for dipping (optional)

Instructions

Method 1:

  1. Start by cleaning your shrimp, for this:

  • remove the head, and also de-shell them making sure to leave only the meat.

  • With a knife make a small incision in the side to devein them.

  1. Peel the garlic cloves and thinly slice them. Chop finely the parsley.

  2. Add the olive oil to the pan and the sliced garlic and cook on medium-low.

  3. Once the garlic is golden and fragrant add the cleaned shrimp and cook for a couple of minutes (one per side)

  4. Add the white wine to the pan, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer on low for 7 minutes.

  5. Sprinkle some fresh parsley on top before serving.

Method 2:

  1. Heat the grill or grilling pan on medium-high heat.

  2. Add the olive oil and the prawns to it and cook for 3 minutes on each side.

  3. Season with some salt and pepper.

  4. Serve with fresh lemon wedges or the sauce of your choice for dipping.

Notes

Depending on the size of your chosen shrimp, it might take different amounts of time to cook. Have in mind mine were king shrimp, so they need a bit more time to cook.

With both methods, the shrimp are best eaten right away right after being made. The first method asks to be served with freshly toasted bread to be dumped in the delicious sauce.

The second method can be served with the sauce of your choice, mayo, sriracha mayo, tahini lemon sauce, or harissa….
