Healthy Thai inspired chicken and pork burgers with quick pickled carrots and sriracha mayo are a fresh, delicious twist on burger night!
Homemade burgers are delicious. I'm talking the classic American grilled beef burgers with cheese and all the toppings. So good. BUT, too much of a good thing gets monotonous and uninspiring. Mix things up on burger night with a fresh new take on grilled burgers with these flavorful Thai inspired burgers!
Why You'll Love These Thai Burgers
These Thai burgers bring a whole new taste to burger night. Made with both ground chicken and pork, and tons of garlic, ginger, fresh herbs mixed in, they are juicy and flavorful while also staying lean. Topped with a sriracha 'mayo' sauce, easy pickled carrots and heaps of fresh veggies and herbs, these burgers were made for summer grilling!
How To Make Healthy Thai Burgers
- Mix the ground chicken, pork, garlic, ginger, green onions, cilantro, fish sauce, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Use your hands to really blend it well.
- Form the mixture into four patties and refrigerate until you're ready to grill.
- Make the sriracha sauce. Whisk the yogurt, sriracha and lime in a small bowl. Taste and adjust as needed.
- Prepare all of your veggies for topping.
- Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill burgers 5-6 minutes per side, flipping once, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Place buns on the grill for a few minutes to toast, if you'd like. Then serve the burgers with all of your favorite toppings!
Topping Ideas
- Easy pickled carrots (make these ahead of time)
- Butter lettuce
- Thinly sliced cucumbers
- Sliced avocado
- Fresh cilantro, green onion, and/or basil (Thai basil if you can find it!)
- Thinly sliced fresh jalapeño
Tips and Ingredient Substitutions
- Use wet hands when forming the patties to prevent the meat from sticking to your hands.
- Make sure the patties are cold before grilling. This helps them stay together on the grill better.
- If you don't have a grill, you can use a grill pan or skillet on the stove.
- If you don't like very much spice, use half the chili flakes.
- You can double the recipe to use a whole pound of chicken and pork. Uncooked patties freeze well!
- If you don't have fish sauce, omit it or use a dash of soy sauce.
