Cranberry Moscow Mule

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

Get in the holiday spirit with a festive Cranberry Moscow Mule! This Christmas cocktail with vodka, cranberries, lime and ginger beer is an easy and delicious crowd pleaser.

Cranberry Moscow Mule

I don't know about you, but I really like a good Cranberry Moscow Mule. It seems to be one of those classic recipes that actually is very good and that you don't have to mess with to get a quality, refreshing drink. I really don't drink anything besides wine very often.  A good wine is always my go-to. Okay, even a questionable wine, don't judge.

BUT, since it is the holiday season, I couldn't resist adding a Christmas touch to the standard favorite Moscow Mule by trading up for my Cranberry Moscow Mules. I said you don't have to mess with it. Not that you can't.

Cranberry Moscow Mule

This version is so perfect for the holidays, and makes a super impressive drink for a crowd that is actually really easy to make! Maybe part of the allure of any good mule is the copper mug. I just adore anything copper, so that could be why I am so attracted to them. Isn't that why everyone loves Moscow Mules?

Besides the beautiful copper mug, though, I also love anything with mint. And I also love ginger. So I guess it make complete sense that the mule wins me over for a good cocktail every time. There is something so perfectly refreshing about the combination. And when you add in the spiced vodka and cranberries - wow! This drink becomes very hard to resist.

Try making this Cranberry Moscow Mule for any holiday gathering you have this holiday season, and I guarantee that your guests will be impressed and very satisfied! Cheers!

  • Method: no cook
  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 Cranberries
  • 5-10 mint leaves
  • ½ oz lime juice
  • 2 oz spiced vodka (see below)
  • 2 ½ oz ginger beer (about)
  • Crushed ice

For spiced vodka:

  • 1-2 cups good quality vodka (I like Tito's)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 3-5 whole cloves

Instructions

To make spiced vodka:

  1. Add vodka, cinnamon stick, star anise, and cloves to a jar or airtight container. Fill with vodka and let infuse for at least 24 hours. Remove spices before serving.

For Spiced Cranberry Mule:

  1. In the bottom of your mug, muddle half of the cranberries and mint. Add spiced vodka, lime juice, and ice.
  2. Add additional whole cranberries(optional) and fill mug the rest of the way with ginger beer.
  3. Stir and serve garnished with lime wedge.

To make a pitcher for a crowd:

  1. Add 1 cup cranberries and a medium-sized bunch of mint leaves to a pitcher and muddle gently. Add 1 cup lime juice, 4 cups spiced vodka, and 4-5 cups ginger beer to a large pitcher.
  2. Refrigerate pitcher until ready to serve. When ready, fill mugs with crushed ice. Pour Spiced Cranberry Mules over ice and enjoy!
