Easy Guacamole

This basic guacamole recipe has just a few simple ingredients and is the perfect classic, easy guacamole to accompany any Tex-Mex dish! (gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan)


  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 2 tbsp diced red onion
  • 2 tbsp finely diced tomato
  • Pinch coarse sea salt
  • Pinch garlic powder
  • Optional extras: freshly cracked black pepper, chopped fresh cilantro, diced fresh jalapeño


  1. Half the avocado and remove the seed. Use a spoon to scoop the flesh out into a bowl. Squeeze lime juice onto avocado. Mash avocado with a fork or potato masher.
  2. Gently stir in onion, tomato, salt, and any other ingredients you wish to add.
  3. Serve immediately or press plastic wrap onto surface and place in the refrigerator until ready to serve, up to 4 hours.
