Simple Sautéed Green Beans

These simple sautéed green beans make a delicious, easy side dish for weeknight meals and holidays alike! (gluten-free, vegan, nut-free)


  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 shallot, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper


  1. Wash and trim green beans.
  2. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
  3. Add green beans, shallot and garlic to pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until shallot is caramelized and green beans are crisp-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
