Making your own holiday ham is much easier than you think! Skip the pricey, pre-made honey glazed ham and make this 3 ingredient maple brown sugar glaze for your ham for your next Christmas, Easter, or New Year's dinner! (dairy-free, gluten-free)

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 spiral sliced ham (about 10-15 lb)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325°F. Wrap ham tightly in heavy duty foil. Place cut side down in a large roaster or baking dish.
  2. Bake ham about 15 minutes per pound, or until internal temperature reaches 140°F. (So for a 10 lb ham, it would take about 2.5 hours).
  3. Make the ham glaze. Whisk together the brown sugar, maple syrup and mustard until smooth.
  4. Once heated through, remove ham from the oven. Turn oven up to 400°F.
  5. Carefully unwrap foil from the top, leaving it in place at the bottom.  Spoon the glaze over the top of the ham, spreading it evenly over the outside.
  6. Place ham back in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and serve hot.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • See above for slow cooker instructions.
  • You can use dijon mustard in place of spicy brown mustard.
