Easy Chimichurri Sauce Recipe

This easy chimichurri sauce recipe is the best way to use up extra fresh herbs, and it makes a delicious topper for steak, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables! (gluten-free, vegan, nut-free)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 tbsp oregano leaves or 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic
  • 3 tbsp good quality extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar (I also like to use white balsamic)
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red chili flakes
  • juice from 1 lime
  • 2-3 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Place herbs and garlic in a food processor. Pulse until finely chopped.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and process until blended, adding more water as needed.
  3. Pour sauce into a bowl or jar. Store covered in the refrigerator up to 1 week.

Notes

You can also make this chimichurri without a food processor. Just very finely chop the herbs and garlic, and whisk in the remaining ingredients.
