From what I'm craving to things I'm loving, I'm sharing it all with you in this third-trimester pregnancy update!
I'm so excited to announce that I've made it into the third trimester! I thought I'd share a little update on baby girl for those who are interested. If you're just here for the food, no worries, skip right on ahead to my recipes.
30 weeks. It's hard to wrap my mind around the fact that our sweet baby will be here in just 10 short weeks (or less!). Cue the freak out about finishing the nursery, checking off the to-do list, and general worries about being a first-time parent. In all reality, Mr. Table and I are still calm, cool and collected (for the most part). We're not big freak-out people, even if both our minds are always churning.
How I'm feeling
Since most people ask, I'm feeling pretty good. This pregnancy has been fairly easy past the first trimester. I haven't had any emotional breakdowns or screaming outbursts at Mr. Table (yet). And I have felt good enough to do yoga, cycle classes, or go on a run most days. Now that I'm into the third trimester and my belly has gotten bigger and heavier, I am starting to have a little bit of back pain. And I feel a lot more tired most days. I take a lot of naps. But so far, so good! It's fun to feel baby girl move around. She loved the orchestra at church during the Good Friday and Easter services. Mr. Table gets quite a kick out being able to see and feel her move too!
What I'm craving
The detail everyone wants to know. Honestly, I haven't had many cravings. For a while, oatmeal was the only thing I wanted for breakfast. And that's still pretty much true. Now I've been craving strawberries almost daily. And then there are nights (okay every night) where I want ice cream (Blue Bell all the way!), but that's not really pregnancy, that's just our nightly routine! I am also now the proud owner of a bump that doubles as a table. Score.
Things I'm loving
I didn't think I'd need to buy many products for myself during pregnancy. I figured I'd just focus on getting everything baby needs. And for the most part, I've been right. My clothes and shoes have (mostly) fit up until now, though my growing belly is starting to change that. Also, the fact that I'm allowed to wear leggings every day doesn't hurt. But here are a few things that I've been loving for pregnancy:
- BLANQI belly support tank. Now that my back is starting to ache, this tank has been helping to support my belly and ease the pain a little.
- Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter - I've been rubbing this on my tummy since it started growing. I totally think stretch marks are genetic and no cream will help, but this stuff is soothing and moisturizing!
- Baths - I've always loved baths, but I especially enjoy them now. I've been enjoying trying different bath products, and my favorite right now is Herbivore Botanicals Coconut Soak.
- Reading - This period in my life is the first time in a long time that I've taken the time to read for pleasure, and it's been amazing. I recently finished Little Fires Everywhere and am about to start Crazy Rich Asians.
I can only imagine that these next 10 weeks are going to fly by and I will get to hold baby girl in my arms before I know it! In the meantime, I'll be trying to get in plenty of rest and check everything off my never-ending to-do list. We can't wait to meet our sweet baby!
