I was provided a meal delivery by DoorDash in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not compensated for my time.
In case you haven’t yet heard, it’s my one year blogging anniversary! (Enter the fantastic GIVEAWAY here!) But it’s also somebody else’s anniversary. DoorDash recently celebrated their one-year anniversary in Dallas, and they’re expanding into other parts of DFW. Now you can get meals delivered straight to your door from your favorite restaurants in Fort Worth and Arlington with the affordable delivery service from DoorDash. (Psst… They also deliver in the Southlake, Flower Mound and Frisco areas!)
I was recently asked to review an experience with DoorDash, and it could not have been more timely. My husband and I are in the process of moving, and had spent a loooong 2 days driving and moving heavy things, so we were exhausted when we pulled back into Dallas and were in no condition to cook. You all know I love cooking on a nightly basis, but sometimes you just need to flop on the couch and have someone else cook every once in a while, right? DoorDash came to our rescue!
We were seriously craving some gyros, so we looked up our restaurant options on the DoorDash mobile app and found that our favorite Mediterranean restaurant, Ziziki’s was available for delivery. I was surprised by the selection of restaurants available. I ordered our food right on the app, though you can also order online. You can tip your dasher straight from the app when you order, and there’s also a place for special instructions for things like parking and gate codes for your driver. I soon got a confirmation e-mail telling me the time frame in which my food would arrive. What’s really awesome is that you can track your order on the app so you know exactly when to expect it. We went about unpacking and showering, and pretty soon I got a text saying that our dasher had picked up our order and would be arriving shortly. We got another text when he was pulling up. So convenient!
Our dasher, Mohamed was very friendly. Not that we cared because we were so excited for our food! We were slightly disappointed by the way our food was packaged and presented, but that was probably our fault for picking Greek for delivery (and the restaurant’s fault for packaging it funky.) I’m not sure hummus is supposed to be taken to-go in a foam container. Nonetheless, the food was delicious and we were incredibly happy that we didn’t have to cook or clean up!
